I Move

Three people in LC 1 got spot prizes at the I move assembly. We got stickers if we walked, biked,or ran to school. We are learning to keep fit.

Being Safe In the Sun

We are learning about being safe in the sun.You need to wear a hat, sunscreen,sun glasses,and cover up. Look at our sun smart pictures and stories.

Mrs Kenyon was looking after the baby lambs because their mother died.

Ryan thinks they look weird because they have blue on their backs.

They were triplets but one died so now they are twins.

Nathaniel thinks they look cute.

"They have a fence around them so they can't get lost", said Mitchell.

"We patted a lamb and it felt soft and furry", said Madi and Katie.

The Production

We danced on stage at the Regent Theatre. When we finished our dance "Thriller", the audience clapped and cheered. Lots of special people came to see us. The show was fabulous and spectacular! We felt very excited and proud!

Who Will Be My Mother?

We read a story about a baby lamb that lost its mother. We made our own photo story about twin lambs that lost their mum.

Te Manawa

F Day for Fiona

We dressed up as something starting with F to raise money for Fiona to go to Canada for Mountain biking.

We went to Te Manawa to see things from fifty years ago.Derek is showing us how to work an old wringer washing machine.

We had a visit from Charlie. He is a fawn.

Autumn Leaves

We went outside and played in the Autumn leaves.

We were dancing with The Minstral and his wife. It was fun.

We saw and heard The Minstral. He was funny. He talked to us about safety in the water and fishing. We learnt we have to wear a life jacket.
When you pick up a fish use a wet towel so you don't take off the scales. If the fish is too small you put it back in the water carefully so it can go and make more babies. You eat the middle size fish. You need a special fishing ruler to measure the fish. You need some salty ice keep the fish fresh.

We lost one of our caterpillars. It crawled across the room and has glued itself onto the door frame. It is a J shape.

We are learning about how wind is made. The sun heats the air and it rises. It made our snakes move.

We would like to welcome Kimberly Lock into LC1. She is a first year student from Massey University College of Education and will be with us for the rest of this term.

Our Monarch Butterflies

We have been learning about Monarch butterflies. Leah and Renee brought in some chrysalises and we watched them hatch out. It was very exciting!
